The movie is based on the life and music of the rock band, and how the music changes their lives and finally brings them together again.”

We have heard him and loved his songs from movies like Silsila and Mukaddar Ka Sikandar. Well it's not for the first time that Big B will be seen dancing and singing on screen, but yes it will be the first time that Amitabh Bachchan will be lending his voice to an ad commercial.

Directed by Sujoy Ghosh who is also directing Big B in the forthcoming film Aladin, Bachchan will be singing for Himani Navratna Oil commercial for which he is the brand ambassador. The jingle has been composed by the versatile Vishal Shekhar. And from what we hear, Amitabh too spent long hours in the studio with the musicians and provided his own inputs. Needless to say, the dance is going to be one to watch out for, especially since it's been choreographed by the popular duo Bosco Ceaser. But so much is the magnetic pull of the legendary actor that when the team of Aladin learnt that Sujoy Ghosh was directing an ad with Bachchan, everyone from Vishal Shekhar, Sabu Cyril, Bosco Cesear to Sirsha Ray and Gabbana dropped all their tasks and reported to duty!

'It was amazing because before I could even ask them, they were there. It was like going back to the sets of Aladin." Says Sujoy, who debuted with the movie 'Jhankaar Beats'.

Speaking further about his experience about working with the Shehanshah, Sujoy elaborates, "He has an incredible energy level that comes across on the screen as well. We had an amazing time shooting the ad with him."

Director Deepa Mehta has signed on actress Shriya Saran for her next film, Komagata Maru. The director has already signed on Akshay Kumar to play the male lead in the movie.

The director is currently in India to promote her film Videsh, which is based on the story of battered Punjabi wife, which has been essayed by Preity Zinta on screen. The filmmaker will then be moving on to Komagata Mary after which she has her sights set on Salman Rushdie's Midnight Children. The author himself is expected to be collaborating with her on the screenplay for that film. But in the interim, the director will be working on Komagata Maru. The story of the film is about the journey of an ill fated ship, which sets out on its voyage from India to Vancover. Shriya will be playing the younger of the only two female passengers who are on board the ship. Akshay plays the lead in the movie. Deepa and Akshay go back a long way as the director had initially signed him on to play the role, which was later essayed by John Abraham in Water. This was when Deepa was making the movie with Shabana Azmi and Nandita Das. But the film ran into a lot of controversies in Benaras which forced the director to abandon the film then but not give up on it. A few years later, she shot the movie in Sri Lanka with a different cast and Water did win quite a few accolades internationally. Since that project was not to be for Deepa and Akshay, they have now come together a second time to work on a film. This time, matters are expected to progress smoothly. The shooting of the movie is expected to begin in September this year

Bharat Ratna Lata Mangeshkar who turned 81, last September will return to the recording studios after a long gap of five years. She was supposed to start with the recording of a solo number for Om Shri Arihant's 'Lifestyle In Generation Next' two months ago but had to postpone the recording because of a series operation to replace both her knees. She has now completely recovered and will report for the recording for the same film at Swarlata Recording Studio on April 27. The song will be recorded by one of her favorite music director Raam Laxman.

'I feel like a new singer facing for first test. It is a great feeling to sing for a film again but I am also a little nervous before the recording of any song and this time I am a little more nervous because of being out of touch. I have worked very hard on the song. And I hope I do justice to it,' the always very humble Lataji says.

He trained with a few stuntmen for two days.”

“Kabir’s heart was in his mouth when he actually did it. John was coming down between two skyscrapers and the wind between two buildings is always very cutting. People with the toughest drive and enthusiasm can be blown away. Even if you are wearing protective gear, which John was wearing, it could prove fatal if the rope snapped or he lost his sense of direction.”

Well it’s not acting but the two other skills - driving and swimming - that Bipasha Basu thinks she is weak in. And for that she recently went to Kolkata to make her driving license. The actor says that she knew a bit of both, but needed to perfect them.

Bipasha later adds that she thoroughly admires people who do free-style swimming. She feels it like dancing in water and wants to do that as well.

Talking about driving, Bipasha adds, “And with driving, well, I was never inclined towards it. But now, I have finally given in and I know it is not that difficult.”

The producers of the film are not allowing the actor to lend her voice for her own lines. Someone else will dub her lines for the film.

After a much discussion the producers allows her to dub for only one print of the film that is going to be submitted to the National Awards. However, Bips is not ready to accept this. Bipasha is playing a role of most ambitious and challenging role ever in the film and don’t want someone else to dub for it.

Bipasha says, “No way will I allow this to happen to my first Bengali film. In fact one of the reasons why I waited so long to do a Bengali film was because I wanted to be sure I could carry off the lines.”

“But I’m very clear on this issue. I’ll not let the film be released with someone else’s voice. I know what that does to a performance. And I won’t dub only for the National Award print. I won’t dub for only one print. I want every print to have my voice,” adds Bipasha
