Lara Dutta, the first Miss Universe of the new millennium was born to Wg. Cdr. L.K. Dutta and Jennifer Dutta in Ghaziabad. Lara is a model by profession. At the age of 16 she left her home from bangalore to come to mumbai and realize her dreams. Before Miss universe she was a successful print and ramp model. She was first discovered by Gladrags' annual modeling competition. After winning Miss Intercontinental in Germany, she started to build up a very successful modeling career on a national scale. She appeared in ads. for Synergie, Ceat, Coke and Sprite which made her popular. She participated in the Miss Femina India contest and won the title which paved her way to the Miss Universe Crown. A mix between Punjabi and Scottish parents this stunning beauty always emerged a winner.

Lara has embarked on another path the road to stardom in Bollywood. Her debut film was Andaaz. She got the film fare award for Andaaz as a new comer. The film and its music was hit. After that her one more film came Mumbai Se Aya Mera Dost. In both films her work was appreciated. In 'Masti' she played a small role. Her forth coming film Aan is coming with opposite Akshay Kumar. She looks ahead to many more and her steely determination lead her to win. Apart from these she participated in various AIDS related events and worked along with the UNFPA. ranbir surprise visit to deepika

Ranbir Kapoor recently surprised his girlfriend Deepika Padukone with an unannounced visit on a movie set. The lovers have been keeping very busy lately. He’s been shooting Yashraj Films’ Rocket Singh in and around Mumbai, while she’s been working on Kartik Calling Kartik with Farhan Akhtar in Karjat on the outskirts of Mumbai.

London, May 23 (IANS) While she is travelling all around the world and meeting famous people, Freida Pinto, heroine of the Oscar-winning film "Slumdog Millionaire", feels Mumbai will always be her home.

"I don't have a fixed address as I'm making movies all over the world. I'm filming in Israel at the moment and who knows after that, so I'm not making plans to buy my own place yet," quoted Freida as saying.

"Ultimately, Mumbai will always be home. That's where my family is," she added.

The 24-year-old actress is presently working on a film, "Miral", in Israel and has also been signed by Woody Allen for an untitled film to be shot in London.

Freida, a model and a travel show presenter in India, said when she auditioned for Danny Boyle's "Slumdog...", she didn't know that it would become such a big hit.

"I had no idea 'Slumdog Millionaire' would become such a huge success. In fact, when we were filming, none of us expected it, so the feeling of surprise and shock is still with me."

"The film won eight Oscars and I was nominated for Best Supporting actress at the Baftas, and now, when I look back at photographs in magazines of me at the film awards I can still hardly believe it's me," she added

Bollywood Gossip : Has Mallika Sherawat given a nude scene in her upcoming Hollywood film, Hissss is the first question that comes to mind after watching its trailer. Just recently, the first promo of the much in news anticipated Mallika Sherawat starrer Hissss is out and we must admit it does make for an interesting watch.

The promo gives the impression that it is a no nonsense thriller that is certainly not meant for the faint hearted as it has plenty of blood and gore. A surefire Adults Only certificate cannot be ruled out from Indian Censor Board.

The trailer shows Mallika Sherawat slithering in mud and becoming a deadly snake. She is shown covered in a body suit that fits her like second skin and during many times while watching the trailer it gives the impression that Mallika hasn’t worn anything.

There are sequences shown with many murders happening. In one scene Mallika is shown slithering up a tree and baring her fangs and shocks your wits. Then in another scene she is shown transformed into a helpless woman. Also seen in the trailer are the film’s other Indian stars, Irrfan Khan and Divya Dutta.

The plot of Hissss revolves around a snake woman played by Mallika Sherawat looking for revenge.

Irrfan and Divya Dutta play a couple and reportedly there is a very passionately shot love making scene between the two. The film appears high on special effects

From what we have heard from industry sources, Aamir, the master planner wants to give his medium budget production, Delhi Belly starring nephew Imran Khan the big push by roping in a big starlet for an item song.

The song is not a gimmick but a part of the film. Sources further reveal, “Apparently, Aamir first tried it out with his 3 Idiot’s co-star Kareena but since she is busy with shooting commitments she could not allot her dates.

Roping of current flavour of the season Priyanka Chopra also crossed his mind but it seems it may be too much of an ego issue for him, since his request for a screen test for her during the casting of Ghajini had not gone down to well for her.

Now it remains to be seen who shall be finally be the one who shall be chosen by Mr. Perfectionist.”

Knowing his penchant for perfectionism perhaps a reality dance show hunt ala Shah Rukh Khan (he chose cheerleaders for his IPL team) might work? But then A list actress would certainly not participate in it.
